Kegerators: The Best Choice for Your Restaurant or Bar

Tuesday, October 28th, 2014

Beverage Air KegeratorIt wasn’t actually that long ago that pubs and saloons had to rely on massive, walk-in ice rooms or other large refrigerators to keep their beer cold. But today, even a tiny hole-in-the-wall can offer cold draught beer through the magic of kegerators. Available in sizes and shapes that range from sizable, industrial units to little rolling coolers, kegerators are made to maximize the draught beer experience while minimizing the space required. Modern restaurant/bar kegerators come with a variety of features, including (but not limited to):

  • Digital temperature readouts.
  • Digital temperature controls.
  • Batteries w/charge indicators.
  • Stainless steel draught tower.
  • Intense cooling ability, down to 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Forced-air refrigeration that keeps the hoses cold so there is no ‘first foam’ effect.
  • Sturdy castors for easy rolling.

Get Ready for Kickoff: The Necessary Restaurant Equipment for Football Season

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014

Tailgating Football FansFootball Season starts September 4th — is your restaurant ready? The football crowd has its own dynamic and its own wants and needs; if your restaurant equipment is not up to the demands they are going to place on it, you may be leaving money on the table. So what exactly do you need?

Fryers

There is nothing the football crowd loves more than deep-fried food. Hot wings, chicken fingers, onion rings, french fries, and mozzarella sticks; these should all be a snap for your kitchen to pump out when the guys arrive for their ritual of beer and carb-coated snacks dipped in boiling oil. Fryers should be easy to access and well-maintained, because they are going to be seeing a lot of use this season.

Kegerators

Did we mention beer? There’s a good reason for that; it’s always been popular among the football crowd. This season, it’s going to get cranked up another notch as craft beers become the standard in many places from the Pacific Northwest to the Alamo. Kegerators combine the fresh-from-the-fridge taste of a bottle with the direct-to-the-mug convenience of draught — be sure you’re equipped.  (more…)

Kegerators
October 2013

The holidays are right around the corner which means playing host to a variety of holiday parties and gatherings. A kegerator is a great and convenient way to serve cold, refreshing beer to your customers. Before making this exciting purchase, there are some important things to consider. How much beer will be consumed on a daily basis? How many varieties of beer do you want to have on tap? What style do you prefer? Will the kegerator be placed inside or outside?
Kegerators range in size from containing one standard keg up to eight or more slim-barrel kegs. It’s important to calculate the average daily beer consumption in order to know which size will best fit your needs.
You will also need to choose between a stainless-steel exterior or a black-vinyl exterior. Additionally, there is the option of a standard top or a club-top. A club-top includes a sliding door and glass rail.
Finally, if the kegerator will be located outside, it must be sealed on the back. Also make sure to look for kegerators that are Energy Star compliant which will be an excellent money saver in the long run.

The Gameday Essentials Checklist for Restaurants

Wednesday, October 16th, 2013

Has your restaurant seen an increase in action every Monday night since the football season started up? If so, there are a few appliances that your restaurant needs to have to be able to run a successful Monday night football event that will not only keep your customers happy, but keep them coming back for more.

The first item, and probably most important piece of restaurant equipment on our checklist, is a good draft beer cooler. Draft beer is more popular than ever, so it’s a good idea to keep plenty on tap to cater to guest’s tastes. ShortOrder suggests getting one with a 2+ keg capacity so that your customers have a few options to choose from. Plus, by using a Kegerator that has a multiple keg capacity, you’ll have a smaller chance of running out during a big game. After all, the last thing a football fan wants while watching their favorite football team play is to run out of beer.

Next on our list of essentials is a nice, heavy-duty commercial fryer. When you get a fryer from ShortOrder, you don’t have to worry about it breaking down in the middle of a football game when your customers are ordering a plethora of fried foods. If this happened, your customers would not be happy, and might change their gameday hotspot for watching the football game.

Last on our gameday checklist is the perfect commercial charbroiler. Any restaurant that caters to football fans knows that on Mondays it’s best to be fully stocked up on favorites like hamburgers and hot dogs, which are staples in the Monday night football fan’s diet. This is why you need a charbroiler that will grill a great hamburger every time.

So are you ready for next Monday based on our checklist? If not, contact ShortOrder today and let us take your kitchen to the next level.

Direct Draw Systems: Kegerators
 August 2012
BM23 with text

Fall football season is upon us and what better way to highlight this month than a beer kegerator? Everyone loves a fresh, cold, draft beer to go with their chips and dip. Some things to look for when purchasing your next kegerator are: size, style, and intended usage.

Kegerators come in a range of sizes from containing one standard keg, up to eight or more slim-barrel kegs, so you need to know how much beer will be consumed. There are also a variety of styles. Kegerators come with a stainless-steel exterior or black-vinyl exterior. In addition to the different exteriors, they also have standard tops or they have what is called a club-top, which includes a sliding door and glass rail. Lastly, you need to be aware of your intended usage. Kegerators that are going to be used outside, need to be the ones that are sealed on the back. Some kegerators are Energy Star compliant too, which will save you money in the long run.

Beverage Air Direct Draw Systems – Kegerators: Are You Ready for Some Football?

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

We can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Football season is underway, and if your bar or restaurant has a television set — chances are — customers will be lining up to watch gridiron battles and root for their favorite teams with an ice cold brew in hand. Are you prepared? Or, will you be relying on bags of ice the size of a small glacier and soggy, discolored labels to ensure customers enjoy a frosty beer? If that sounds like your establishment — have no fear — we carry restaurant equipment ideal for keeping your libations at chilly temperatures.

Direct Draw Systems, otherwise known as Kegerators, are wonderful devices for doling out pint after tasty pint, just as patrons scream and cheer for their beloved teams. If you have yet to create your fantasy restaurant beer-chilling lineup in time for football season, the Beverage-Air Direct Draw Systems: Kegerator BM23-B is a fabulous choice. At Short Order, we gave this “Barmobile Beer Dispenser” a 5-Star rating and our Editors Choice selection. But, don’t just take our word for it. Jane Gruschow from Canadaigua, New York, says of her BM23, “Kegerator is working fantastic!!! No foam issues and beer is always cold!” Pat Elder from Victoria, Texas says, “AWESOME!!!! What else can I say…Ice cold beer, perfect head of foam… Don’t waste your money on cheaper units that have to be retrofitted in order to reduce foam and keep (the) tower cold, this one does it all.”

The BM23-B is also incredibly durable. In fact, its standard construction features wear resistant, black vinyl on steel exteriors, heavy-duty stainless steel top, galvanized steel interiors and reinforced stainless steel floors and doorsill. Your kegerator could take a beating from a linebacker and you wouldn’t have to worry about putting the equipment on injured reserve. The three-inch insulated tower is designed to have a “continuous source of cold air channeled into it to keep beer at its coldest, best quality when dispensed.”

With Direct Draw Systems from Short Order, you’ll be well on your way to a winning season. You can also stock your equipment team with even more champion players by adding Glass Chillers to your bar or restaurant. That means come game time, no matter how many thirsty patrons you serve, no one will have to dread warm beer.

Beverage-Air Refrigerators: Chilling Out

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Beverage-Air refrigerators come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and are the perfect pieces of restaurant equipment needed to keep your food fresh and cool.  Whether you’re trying to chill milk for youngsters to grow strong bones with, keep all the fixings for a sandwich crisp and organized, make sure that frosty mug of beer stays frosty, or simply freeze or refrigerate anywhere from a modest to a massive amount of food and/or beverage, Beverage-Air refrigerators are guaranteed to get the job done.

After all, we’re talking about one of the industry leaders of refrigeration and, er, freezeration? products.  Beverage-Air refrigerators have a justly-deserved reputation for being efficient, well-made, and incredibly effective.

Beverage-Air Kegerators

Beverage-Air kegerators are excellent examples of Beverage-Air refrigerators doing a specialized task perfectly.  Sure, you could throw a keg in a refrigerator and call it a day, but that would be an incredibly inefficient use of resources and space, and you’d probably make yourself nuts drilling holes through those excellently manufactured refrigerator walls to run the tubing.  Why not just call it a day and opt for Beverage-Air kegerators?  They’re durable, reliable, easy on the eyes, and do what they’re designed to do virtually flawlessly.  These are a must for any restaurant or bar accustomed to giving discerning customers near-brain freezes with crisp, refreshing mugs of beer.

Beverage-Air Refrigerators

Beverage-Air Refrigerators, as previously alluded to, make a host of chilling and freezing products.  Obviously, regular old refrigerators are part of their trade, but even these come in a dazzling array of styles, so you can find exactly the solution your restaurant needs.  The Beverage-Air Display Refrigerator CRG24-1, for example, is an excellent way of providing customers with an opportunity to grab the beverage they need and go.  It’s a great addition to diners or fast casual establishments. For an under-the-counter model, check out the Beverage-Air Undercounter Refrigerator UCR60A, which features two doors for easy access, as well as a sturdy, stainless steel exterior.

Beverage Air Kegerators

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

Beverage Air kegerators might just be the standard-bearers of the keg refrigeration world.  (We were tempted to do a play on words involving “standard-beerers,” but thought better of it.  Didn’t want to tickle too many punny bones.)  Just like any Beverage Air product, Beverage Air kegerators are high performing, sturdy products that will operate efficiently for years to come.  There’s a lot to like about excellent products like the Beverage-Air Direct Draw Systems: Kegerator BM23-B or the Beverage-Air Direct Draw Systems: Kegerator DD48Y-1-B, both of which will allow you to draw perfectly chilled beer for your customers.  Crisp, cool, refreshing perfection.

Of course, kegerators are not for every restaurant, especially if you don’t serve beer and you dispense your soft drinks using a traditional soda fountain and not using Cornelius kegs for underground craft sodas.  If that’s the case, don’t fret—we have a host of other products that can serve your needs.  Beverage Air makes refrigerators and freezers, both for kitchen use and for display and self-service, that are every bit as good as their highly regarded kegerators; if anything, that’s more what they’re known for.  Manitowoc ice machines provide an excellent way to cool down everything that isn’t going to be kept in a fridge.

Looking for ways to heat things up instead of for ways to cool things down?  (You often need implements to do both in a restaurant, after all.)  We’ve got an extensive “range” (groan) of Vulcan ranges, Frymaster fryers, and the like, all of which can heat your food to deliciously toasty perfection.

We’ll get down to the thrust of the matter: No matter what you’re looking for, whether that’s a Beverage Air kegerator or a different piece of restaurant equipment, know that we’ll have something designed to suit your needs, and it’s all backed with our nifty low price guarantee.

Turbo Air Tables: An Overview

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Turbo Air tables might be a somewhat misleading term; after all, when you do a Google search for the term, you won’t just find an excellent line of sandwich and pizza prep tables, you’ll see an air hockey table manufactured by Sportcraft—and a pretty intense-looking one, too.

Alas, that’s not the topic of this blog post.  We’re more interested in the kind that’s restaurant equipment, not the kind that would have turned your basement into the ultimate hangout zone when you were in high school.  Turbo Air tables are among the industry leaders in terms of quality cold-prep equipment, specializing in an array of both sandwich and pizza preparation solutions.  That’s not all they make, though—Turbo Air also makes refrigerators, freezers, bar back storage, and kegerators with verve and aplomb.  We’ll outline a couple of our favorite products here.  Who knows?  Maybe it’ll whet your appetite.

Turbo Air Pizza Prep Tables and Station TPR-93SD

We’re starting things off with a bang here with the Turbo Air Pizza Prep Tables and Station TPR-93SD.  (Try saying that five times without inhaling!  Actually, don’t—we don’t want to be held liable if you pass out.)  This table is an absolute beaut, featuring stainless steel interior, exterior, and top.  It’s also handy, boasting six shelves in three compartments and a removable cutting board for when you want to chop on the go.  (Just checking to see if you were reading!  That’s actually to make washing easy.)

Turbo Air Direct Draw Systems: Kegerator TBD-2SB

After you’ve made some delicious pizza with the TPR-93SD, why not wash it down with something on-tap, courtesy of the Turbo Air Kegerator TBD-2SB?  This model is designed to hold two kegs, so, as you’d imagine, it has two swing doors and two taps.  The top is 59″, which gives you plenty of space to load up on filled glasses of frosty brew.  This is a solid model that’ll treat you well.

Come to think of it, Turbo Air products might make for more fun than any old air hockey table!
